About Us

Always give without remembering and always receive without forgetting

Who We Are

Daldhis Charity is a community based organisation that supports people who are socially and economically disadvantaged — in particular, but not limited to, people of Somali origin and heritage living and/or working within the London Borough of Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Newham.

Daldhis Charity provides free and impartial information, advice, and guidance on a range of issues including welfare, housing, immigration, education, employment, and training. We also deliver projects for all ages, including youth work and services for older people.

We aim to get the voice of the Somali community heard in the area, promote community cohesion, and reduce the isolation of Somali people. We also organise cultural events, mother tongue (Somali) and supplementary classes, outings for children and adults, as well as interpreting and translation services.

All of these activities are designed to boost residents’ integration in East London and the UK. Daldhis Charity has been, and continues to be, a key partner for organisations and bodies seeking to establish facts and understanding of the Somali community.

Mission

All our work is dedicated to building skills and confidence, promoting integration and social cohesion within the Somali community in East London. For some particularly vulnerable groups (such as the elderly, people with young children, etc.) this goal is harder to achieve, which is why we run tailored programmes for them.

Vision

Our vision is to contribute and work towards a physically and mentally healthy Somali community in East London, whose members are empowered, self-reliant, and integrated within wider society, can exercise their rights, and take informed decisions about the issues affecting their lives.
